Darlene Harrington is a nationally and internationally renowned Hair Stylist, educator, Hair replacement specialist, makeup artist, and Salon and Boutique owner.  Dar’s Beauty & Boutique was established in 1986, being the first in the area to have full service Salon providing clients with the latest hair trends and fashions.  Known too many as Ms. Dar her career started in 1979 as a graduate of the House of James Beauty College (HJBC) in Muncie, Indiana.  She remained at the House of James as an instructor and taught at 10 of 23 schools the franchise owned.  She also lectured and taught at Ball State University for HJBC

 

          In 1981, Dar relocated to Houston, Texas.  While there she trained and assisted  international stylist Betty Jo Williams a Johnson product educator.  While in Houston Darlene became an educator for AFAM Concepts (Elentee’ and Vitale) hair products, located in Chicago, Illinois.  Working the state of Texas and Louisiana.  In 1986, AFAM concepts sent Dar to London, England to teach product knowledge at over 50 salons. Dar was the product developer for Relax a Curl for Afam Concepts

In 1990 had the opportunity to work Universal Studios and Warner Brothers Studio in Hollywood, California for Natalie Coles Big Break show.

 

In 1991, Dar became an educator for Avlon Industries (Affirm, Ferm and Kera Care hair products).  At that time Ali Sead owner/chemist, and developer of Avlon Industries trained Dar.  Also, Dar became Head Educator, conducting seminars all over the Mid Western United States (Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Georgia).

                              Dar’s Hair Replacement Clinic was founded in 1994, to accommodate clients with bald and thinning hair.  Alopecia clients, cancer patients, or clients that just want a total new make over.  Dar trained in Miami, Florida and Fort Lauderdale, Florida by Gilberto Febles.  In San Francisco, California at the American Hair Loss Symposium by Jeffrey Paul and Zina Paul.  Learning the newest methods of attaching hair extensions and integration systems a non-surgical procedure.

 

                              In 1994, Dar worked with the Gospel Music Workshop and Bill Gather, at Gather Studios in Indiana.  And was able to work with various recording artist such as Jennifer Holiday, Billy Preston, Sandy Patty, Dorothy Norwood, Darius Brooks, Albertina Walker, and Teresa Harrison (editor of Gospel today magazine) doing hair and makeup.

Dar became Jennifer Holidays personal stylist changing her hair color, adding to her extreme make over.

                               In 1998, Dar joined the American Hair Loss Council and became Certified Hair Loss Specialist.

                              In 2005, successfully completed required technical training in Cleveland Ohio with Jeffrey Paul to become a certified Technician for Tressallure X hair extensions.

                              In the Spring of 2011, Dar will be training for Slid Industries marketers of MVP hair and skin care products in Ghana Africa. After completion Dar will be teaching,launching products through out Western Africa and South African Countries as well as London, England and Paris. Dar is also instrumental in opening a Beauty College in Accra Ghana in the fall of 2011 grounds will be broken…..training and teaching the art of cosmetology will be instructed  by Ms Dar. Currerculum Faselitator.
